The Long-Term Consequences of Concussions 

Dr. Michael L Lipton, MD, PhD, FACR, is professor of radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, affiliate professor of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University and attending neuroradiologist at New York-Presbyterian. Dr. Lipton’s research program and clinical practice are focused on cutting edge detection of microscopic brain injury and cognitive decline due to concussion, head impacts in contact sports, and COVID-19. His work on brain injury due to soccer heading has received international scientific and press coverage. Dr. Lipton earned his MD from Boston University and his PhD in Neuroscience from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He has received numerous awards, including the Distinguished Investigator Award from the Academy of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging Research, and is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology.
